A Dinner At Mexican Village!
Updated: Oct 19
Hey all!
Tonight, we’re dining at Mexican Village, a local staple well-known to Detroiters at both its flagship Downtown location and its spot in Utica. Plenty of locals claim Mexican Village serves up some of the best Mexican food around. Is that true? Well... we can safely say it’s pretty darn good!
The restaurant features classic, cozy Mexican decor accented by gorgeous stained glass throughout the dining room. As soon as you're seated, your table is greeted with complimentary chips alongside both mild and hot salsas.
For our main course, we went with two classic dishes:
Enchiladas: Corn tortillas packed with your choice of filling, smothered in melted cheese, and served with Spanish rice and refried beans. The melted cheese topping on these was fantastic!
Chicken Flautas: Three crispy, golden fried chicken roll-ups served with guacamole, sour cream, Spanish rice, and refried beans. The shell had a wonderful crunch without feeling greasy at all.
Even the sides were on point—the rice and beans were full of flavor. Overall, Mexican Village definitely earns its spot as one of the top choices for Mexican cuisine in the area.
