The Search For Piranha Pool At Trader Sam's

Hay all!

What was initially intended as a half-day trip to Disneyland from Knott's Berry Farm became a wonderful evening at Trader Sam's! (I hadn't realized that both parks would be at full capacity due to a special Disney Channel party event.)

Trader Sam's draws inspiration from the "head salesman" character of the famous Jungle Cruise ride. This tiki bar is located in the pool area of the Disneyland Hotel.

I secured an evening reservation at Trader Sam's Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel. I had heard that this original location was more spacious than its Florida counterpart. When I got the notification that my reservation was ready, I headed to this charming tiki spot.

Upon arrival, I noticed numerous unique elements inspired by Disney's Jungle Cruise, along with features reminiscent of the Adventureland section of the park. Once seated, I decided to order the Piranha Pool drink. This beverage contained Stoli Strasberi Vodka, pineapple juice, cream of coconut, strawberry purée, and blue curaçao. It had a delightful fruity flavor and was served in a piranha-themed tiki mug adorned with tiki details.

A distinctive aspect of this tiki bar was the way the decor came alive around you. This was apparent in various ways, such as when the bartender sprayed water at you as a volcano erupted in the distance, or when the special animatronics, similar to those in Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room, occasionally moved in the background.

Overall, the tiki bar experience was enjoyable, and I was able to add a piranha tiki mug to my collection!
