Chocolate Haven at Sander's Chocolate & Ice Cream

Today, we are visiting Sanders, a renowned candy shop in Detroit celebrated for its iconic hot fudge and Bumpity Bliss Cake. Established in 1875, Sanders once operated up to 57 locations throughout Detroit. Over time, the company encountered several challenges and was eventually acquired by the Morley Candy Company to preserve the brand. Although only a few locations remain, the company maintains a significant presence in grocery stores nationwide. This particular store serves as the headquarters and flagship location in Clinton Township. Inside, a large window along an extensive hallway allows visitors to observe chocolatiers crafting various candy products in the factory. We visited to purchase some candy for the upcoming Mother's Day holiday while visiting family in town. After buying some candies for Mother's Day, we explored the ice cream menu to see if anything captured our interest. Upon reviewing the menu, we selected the S'mores Sundae, which features chocolate marshmallow ice cream topped with marshmallow topping and graham cracker dust. This sundae was delightful, and the marshmallow topping tasted fresh. If you're interested in their signature sundaes, consider trying the Hot Fudge Cream Puff or their Peanut Butter Block Party. Overall, this is an excellent place to purchase chocolate gift baskets for your family and enjoy some ice cream if you're in the area. Check out our photo review below!
