Hey all!
This evening, we are at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights, MI, for the Jimmy Eat World Bleed American 25th Anniversary Tour. The concert began with opening acts by the Get Up Kids and another band whose name, unfortunately, escapes me. Nonetheless, both bands delivered great performances, and despite most of their songs being slow, they provided the perfect background ambiance without being dull. A recurring feature throughout the show was the simplicity of the sets, which was refreshing since elaborate stage pieces can sometimes distract from the band and feel like unnecessary extras. When Jimmy Eat World took the stage, their showmanship was outstanding, complemented by simple set designs that didn't detract from their performance. They played songs like "The Middle," "Bleed American," "Sweetness," "Authority Song," and "Lucky Denver Mint," along with the entire Bleed American album from start to finish. This concert ranks among the best we've attended this year. They are fantastic live, steer clear of politics, and use minimal adult language, making it an ideal event for families. Overall, The Coast 'N' Tiki Crew recommends Jimmy Eat World.
