Hey all!
Today, we're hitting up Six Flags Over Georgia. While you won't find the Devil here, the park definitely serves up some wild rides. We started our day by grabbing a Flash Pass Virtual Queue, which took about 45 minutes even though only six groups were ahead of us. Then, we made a beeline for the Twisted Cyclone. This RMC hybrid is the newest ride in the Six Flags family, and even though it's compact and short, it's packed with airtime. After that, we hopped on the Dahlonega Mine Ride, which was pretty bumpy. It's a classic, but not really my favorite.
Next, we headed to the back of the park to check out the original Superman Ultimate Flight rollercoaster. This one's a hidden gem, using the terrain and even featuring a tunnel. Nearby, the Great American Scream Machine, a wooden coaster, turned out to be the roughest wooden ride I've ever been on, leaving me with some bruises. We then tried the Blue Hawk Looping coaster, which, despite having updated restraints, was still a rough ride (sensing a trend here?). Thankfully, the rough ride streak ended when we got on Dare Devil Dive, a Euro Fighter model coaster with a vertical lift, beyond vertical drop, and multiple inversions—all with just a lap bar. This became my favorite ride of the day, even topping Goliath next door. Speaking of which, Goliath was our next stop, and it was a solid hyper coaster with great airtime. I wrapped up the day with rides on Batman The Ride, the revamped Riddler Mindbender, and then The Georgia Scorcher.
Batman the Ride provided its typical excitement with inversions and sharp transitions. Riddler Mindbender proved to be an excellent family coaster, offering inversions and an exhilarating drop into a ravine. Georgia Scorcher is the best stand-up coaster I've experienced, particularly because it didn't cause any thigh discomfort. The design is akin to older stand-up coasters with only two inversions, but the lack of discomfort is a significant advantage!
On our way out, Monster Mansion opened up, so we got to enjoy this classic dark ride. For a regional park, it's the best dark ride I've experienced outside of the parks in Orlando or California. The animatronics are mostly in good shape and working well, and it has a unique story.
Overall, Six Flags Over Georgia may not be the top Six Flags park in the chain, but it's got potential.

As always, thanks for reading and Keep On Coast 'N'
