A Evening At Daebak Korean BBQ!
Updated: 1 day ago
Hey all!
Today, we are dining at Daebak Korean BBQ! This restaurant is nestled inside a vibrant shopping complex alongside a K-Pop store, a Korean bakery, and a Korean market, making everything convenient and within walking distance.
The setup features circular tables with built-in stovetop grills where you and your party cook your own meats and vegetables right at the table. I am generally not the biggest fan of interactive, "cook-it-yourself" dining experiences, but the quality of the food and the selection completely won me over.
We kicked off our meal with the Rice Cake Sticks—deep-fried rice cake skewers served with your choice of spicy gochujang or sweet honey garlic sauce. They were wonderfully filling and delicious, with the sweet honey garlic sauce quickly becoming our personal favorite.
For our main course, we ordered the Marinated Combo for 2, which featured:
Beef Bulgogi (GF)
Soy Marinated Chicken
Spicy Pork
Marinated Short Rib Slices (GF)
The combo also came with rice, banchan (traditional side dishes), a fresh salad, steamed egg, and a small, savory spicy soybean soup. Once we got all the meats sizzling on the grill, the cooking process turned out to be a really fun experience. The standout bite of the night was easily the soy marinated chicken!
Overall, Daebak Korean BBQ makes for a great date night or evening out in the Southfield area. If you enjoy authentic Korean cuisine and want to explore the neighboring bakery, Tiger Bakery, and K-Pop shop, it offers a complete cultural outing. We will definitely be back!
