A Step Back In Time At Greenfield Village!

Hey everyone!

Today, we're visiting Green Field Village, located on the grounds of Ford Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. With temperatures reaching the high 60s, it seemed like an ideal time to explore while we're nearby. For some historical context, Green Field Village was established by Henry Ford, the inventor and founder of Ford Motor Company, in 1933. Ford had a keen interest in history and created Green Field Village to preserve relocated or reconstructed historical buildings. These include Ford's workplaces, along with the homes of Noah Webster, McGuffey, Luther Burbank, and the Wright brothers, as well as the workplaces of Thomas A. Edison and the site where Abraham Lincoln practiced law. Over the years, the village has grown to include a craftsman village with shops offering artisan souvenirs made with historical machinery and tools, along with various shops and dining options. Essentially, this place resembles a historical amusement park. You can also enjoy a ride on a historical train around the village and nearby farms, take a ride in their Model T's around the village, or enjoy a ride on a historical carousel. There's an abundance of things to see and do here, and if you want to experience everything, it certainly requires a full day, especially if you're a history enthusiast. We enjoyed as much as we could see and will definitely return to catch what we missed. So with that, let's dive into the photo review!

You can enter most of the buildings. The staff will provide you with the building's history, or if it's a building that was produced goods, they will demonstrate how it was made using machinery and tools from the past.
