Catching Trains, Gold, And Sled Dogs In Skagway

Hello All!
Today our ship cruised to Skagway, where I took a scenic railway into Yukon territory, met a sled dog team, and panned for gold. The railway provided incredible views of the mountains before traveling into Yukon territory and returning to the town. We then hopped on a bus to meet an Iditarod sled dog team and saw a demonstration of the dogs pulling the sled. Fun fact: a musher usually only gets an average of one to two hours of sleep since they have to take care of the dogs every time they stop. After visiting the dogos, we put on our prospector hats and panned for gold, where we brought home a whopping $30 in gold flakes! Overall, we loved the adventure we got to do in Skagway!
