Ed Sheeran's The Loop Tour!
Updated: Sep 10
Hey all!
Tonight, we are at Ford Field to see Ed Sheeran’s The Loop Tour. This is supposed to be one of his last U.S. tours for a long time, so it was a must-see chance for both of us to catch him live.
His openers were Myles Smith, Lukas Graham, and Ellie Banke. If you regularly listen to Ed Sheeran’s radio stations on Spotify, there is a strong chance you have already heard a couple of tracks from these artists on rotation. All of them put on fantastic performances and kept the crowd's energy high right from the start. One of the openers got a little bit preachy, but you sort of expect that at any live concert.
If you are unfamiliar with how Ed Sheeran performs, he is basically a one-man band who live-loops every single instrument right on stage to build a full sound behind him. It is wildly impressive to watch. The whole setup was incredible, featuring a unique A and B stage connected by a retractable bridge that spanned right over the pit. Because of the open stage design, you could see the action clearly from anywhere in the venue without ever feeling like your view was blocked.
Overall, we loved the performance! Our only real critique was that we were hoping to pick up a tour poster—since we love collecting them—but we ended up making a cool little display with the vinyl, city patch, and keychain we grabbed from the merch booth instead. Ed Sheeran is definitely worth seeing live!
