Fresh Smoked BBQ at Johnny V's BBQ

Hey all!

On our way back from Michigan's West Coast, we stopped at Johnny V's Smoke Shack in Perry, MI. The place is bright and spacious, featuring witty BBQ quotes that create a fun atmosphere. We ordered at the counter and indulged in two main dishes: the Poutine and the Stuffed Potato.

The Poutine was an interesting combination of fries, gravy, cotija cheese, green onions, pulled pork, and a fried egg. Although I wasn't particularly fond of the fried cheese curds, the rest of the dish was delicious, especially the exceptional gravy. The Stuffed Potato was a massive, standout dish on its own, filled with meat, cheddar, garlic butter, bacon, and a homemade gouda cheddar sauce. We chose to leave out the broccoli and green onions, and even without them, we finished the entire plate! Johnny V's is definitely a great recommendation if you’re traveling along I-69 toward Detroit. Check out the photos from our dining experience below!
