Living The Pirates Life At Casino Pier

Having been traveling for a few days on my yearly theme-park road trip, I opted to visit Casino Pier, my second seaside amusement park of the day and 9th park of the trip.
I was surprised by the number of rides that this compact seaside park managed to fit into its limited space. Naturally, the main highlight of our visit was the renowned Pirates Hideaway, I mean, Hydrus.
Hydrus, a unique Euro-Fighter roller coaster, is produced by Gerstlauer. It includes a 72-foot climb, a steep 97-degree drop, and two inversions - a vertical loop and a heartline roll. Riders can enjoy excellent views of the beach and the ocean during the ride.
Overall, Hydrus was a very unique attraction. However, it was time to ride one of the immersive pirate themed rides in existence, The Pirates Hideaway. (I say this with severe sarcasm).
Pirates Hideaway stands out from the typical whimsical Dragon wagon rides commonly found at fairs. Featuring a distinctive artistic facade, this ride includes a spiral lift and a drop that interacts with the front facade. However, once you enter the actual Pirates Hideaway, everything changes.
As you step into the entrance of the ride's facade, you are transported into a plain warehouse where you, as the rider, have the opportunity to see the pirates' hideaway as a form of contemporary art. The entire interior of the building is open to your imagination in picturing the Pirates Hideaway. You are even prompted to create your own sound effects because of the ride's roughness. Each twist and turn elicits riders shouting sailor phrases like "Shiver me timbers" and "Arrrgh" in pain. By the end of the ride, you get a sense of what it was like to embark on a journey with the pirates.
Although not all of the rides are fantastic, the park offers some pretty unique attractions. You can easily spend an hour or more here. Payment can be made by credit card, or you can opt for a 2-hour wristband if you arrive before 8pm; prices may vary on peak days. If you are heading to Six Flags Great Adventure, a visit to Casino Pier is definitely worth the slight detour.

Seaside Heights has a unique boardwalk leading up to Casino Pier

The Sea-side boardwalk park has quite a bit of attractions in its limited space. Hydrus is in the distance

There she is! The Majestic boardwalk Euro Fighter Roller Coaster Hydrus!

100 Percent a boardwalk rollercoaster. Can we have these instead of parking lot coasters? Check out the ocean in the background!

Hydrus also has a very unique logo.

Ill end this trip report with the majestic Pirates Hideaway. To be honest, this rollercoaster is a true testament to why Wisdom rides does not make clones of this ride. Its to painfully awesome!
