Feelin The Rhythm At Fishbones

Hey all!
This evening, we're dining at Fishbones, a restaurant situated on the Nautical Mile in St. Clair Shores, MI, close to Lake St. Clair. The restaurant boasts a New Orleans and Cajun theme, designed like a factory with New Orleans touches. A large fish clock provides the backdrop for the spacious central bar. We chose to sit in one of the dining sections next to the main bar area.
After being seated, our server greeted us and took our drink orders. We opted for water as our preferred beverage before proceeding to order our meal. We were served bread with two very large rolls and fresh whipped butter. The bread was incredibly addictive, especially with the fresh butter, which seemed homemade. We started with an appetizer, choosing the Zucchini Medallions, which were flash-fried and accompanied by chipotle ranch. The zucchini medallions had a pleasant, zesty flavor. We discovered they tasted even better with a bit of soy sauce instead of the chipotle ranch provided (don't judge us...).
We then ordered our main courses. The first dish we tried was the Salmon Poke Bowl, which included rice, tofu, raw salmon, lettuce, grape tomatoes, and cucumbers with Fishbones Poke Dressing. This dish was decent, although the presence of grape tomatoes and lettuce in a Poke bowl felt unusual. The second dish we ordered was the Fishbones Roll, featuring deep-fried salmon, cucumber, cream cheese, and avocado. The sushi roll was larger than typical sushi pieces and was quite tasty and flavorful. The final dish we tried was the Chicken Jambalaya, which had a spicy mix of chicken, Andouille sausage, mushrooms, and House Creole sauce tossed with rice. I must say, this might be the best Jambalaya I've ever had! And that's coming from someone who always orders Jambalaya whenever it's on the menu during my travels. I would return here just for the Jambalaya!
Overall, we really enjoyed the atmosphere at Fishbones, and the dishes we tried offered an interesting twist on certain classics. It's worth noting that the menu prices are somewhat on the higher side, so keep that in mind. We would definitely visit again if we're passing through the Nautical Mile on Jefferson Ave. Now, let's dive into the photo report!
