Today, we're exploring the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. While Cleveland might not always top the list for tourist hotspots, the Rock Hall is an absolute bucket-list destination if you’re a music lover like us.
Stepping inside feels like entering a multi-level mega-mall dedicated entirely to rock history. Even with a few exhibits undergoing updates during our visit, the venue packs incredible scale into its six floors. The soaring escalators make the climb feel almost infinite as you ascend through music history.
Right off the lobby on the main level, we were greeted by a special exhibit celebrating the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live. Getting an up-close look at Will Ferrell’s iconic outfit and the actual cowbell from the famous sketch was a high point right out of the gate. From there, the main floor dives deep into general rock heritage, displaying iconic outfits, vintage guitars, and even cars owned by legendary artists.
As you head up through the higher floors, the focus shifts toward dedicated spotlight exhibits on specific bands and artists. The standalone exhibition on Paul McCartney’s post-Beatles career with Wings was particularly impressive, highlighting just how massive his footprint remained after the Fab Four.
Heading back down, the final escalator drops you directly into a massive, merch-lover's paradise of a gift shop. It’s fully stocked with everything from band logo stickers and apparel to vinyl records and collectibles.
Overall, the museum is well worth the trip for any rock fan, and its prime downtown location right on the waterfront makes it easy to visit. If you’re anywhere near Cleveland, definitely check it out!
