The Filmore is a concert venue situated in the District Detroit area of Downtown Detroit, close to the Fox Theater, Comerica Park, and various dining options. It has a seating capacity of over 2,900. Originally opened in 1925 as the State Theater, it was built as a movie house. Live Nation later acquired the venue and restored it to its original Italian Renaissance style. In 2007, it was renamed The Filmore. This theater is unique for its Italian Renaissance design, featuring chandeliers, two knight statues flanking the stage, and Italian Renaissance paintings adorning the upper areas and ceiling. Beyond the lobby, there is a large bar and a concession stand to the right offering hot food and both regular and alcoholic beverages for purchase. The first floor near the stage is standing room only, but tables can be reserved in advance for a higher fee, which includes wait staff service. In the upper balcony, there are Loge boxes and seating that extends quite far back, with the topmost seating having a limited view of the performances.Explore some of our team's experiences at the arena below!
