The Green Day Saviors Tour

Hey all!
Today, we're at Comerica Park in Detroit, MI, for the Savior Tour featuring Green Day and Smashing Pumpkins. The concert began with the Linda Lindas, a girl band who delivered a solid performance. The stage was simple, which is typical for the first opening act. Smashing Pumpkins played next, and while I'm only familiar with a few of their songs, their live performance didn't impress me. The lyrics were hard to hear, and the energy was lacking. When Green Day took the stage, the atmosphere truly came alive. They played some tracks from their new album, Saviors, and then performed "American Idiot" and "Dookie" in full to celebrate their anniversaries. Highlights included a dog in a fighter jet flying over the audience during Dookie and a giant heart hand grenade during American Idiot. We did encounter a brief interruption when someone attempted to fly a drone around Comerica to view the show, but otherwise, the performance was fast-paced despite the extensive setlist. One of our Coast 'N' Tiki Staff members, Quickspecc, remarked, "This was probably the most exciting event I've ever been to, and they did such a good job with their music and showmanship. I would definitely recommend going to any of their shows, even if you're not a big fan, for the stage effects and energy they bring." So, if Green Day ever visits your city, I can attest from attending several of their concerts that, regardless of your opinion on their music or views, they certainly know how to put on a show!
