Hey All,
While we were in the St. Clair, Michigan neighborhood, several people recommended we try the Voyageur Restaurant. This establishment offers waterfront dining with a stunning view of the St. Clair River and Canada across the water. The restaurant has a charming old nautical ambiance, complemented by classical music renditions of familiar tunes. We chose to sit in the bar area, which featured a baby grand piano in the corner, likely used for performances at night. The restaurant is also connected to a bowling alley, providing a perfect date night activity afterward. Now, let's talk about the food!
We began our meal with some bread, which was generally delicious, especially with their salted butter. When it came time to order, two of us chose the Prime Rib (available only from Friday to Sunday), while the other two in our group opted for the Tuscan Chicken Pasta.
Our soups were served before the main courses, and we enjoyed French onion soup as well as the soup of the day, which was a cheeseburger soup. Both soups were outstanding!
When our entrees arrived, the Prime ribs were accompanied by asparagus and a choice of potato, or rice if you preferred. The Prime Rib was superbly cooked and came with a tasty side of raw horseradish that was not overpowering. The Tuscan chicken pasta was equally delightful. The staff was very accommodating to my sister, who has autism and is non-verbal, by providing bacon and fries for her when it was not normally something they provided as a side order.
Overall, both the service and the food were exceptional. If you're seeking an ideal date night location by the water, about an hour outside of Detroit, this is the perfect spot!
